We love and will miss you Pa.
6612 acre Lake Pokegama is a part of the Mississippi River flowage. It is connected to the Mississippi through two smaller lakes, Little and Big Jay Gould. Pokegama is a challenging lake to learn with it's dramatic contour and structure variations. With a maximum depth of 112 feet, Pokegama provides a wide variety of habitats. From peaceful coves to mid lake islands, sandy and rocky bars, emergant and submergant weed lines, and mid lake humps and shallow flats. If you are looking for that wall hanger walleye, scrappy smallmouth or chunky largemouth, toothy northern, or slab crappie, Lake Pokegama will not disappoint. We are starting to catch more muskie each year and if you enjoy fishing for lake trout, we can get you in the right area. Check out our Wall of Fame and you will see why our guests return to Southwood Resort year after year.
